This is a nice little article by Alex King on the question of how to make great activist art which is a very important question for me.
In it artist Katy Bauer explains the key to successful activist art is not to rant, shock or alienate but break through to people who don’t agree with you. “I think good activist art should try to engage rather than shock or alienate,” explains artist Katy Bauer. “It’s easy to shock and alienate. It’s difficult to educate and inspire.” I totally agree with this statement and I think that many Craftivists would hold this idea as one of their core values.
